Description:

Once upon a time there were two sisters who lived in New York, one impulsive and the other smartly sensible. The sisters found love and lost love. This enchanting tale would go on, but one day quite unexpectedly, their 78-year-old father decided to divorce their mother to whom he has been married to for almost fifty years. When their mother was forced to leave her palatial Upper West Side apartment, the sisters took up residence with her in a small cottage in Westport, Connecticut, to escape the chaos of their own lives. The engaging plot takes unexpected twists and turns, as author Cathleen Schine presents a hilarious, contemporary adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel, Sense and Sensibility. This program is part of the 30th Alper JCC Jewish Book Festival.
